We're changing!
As many of you may know, as a separately owned venture, the owner of Phototech started a separate company/website in 2004 to (at first) offer holiday cards online. www.photoaffections.com. The growth of this venture has been so dramatic, that after three years of operating both the website and our local business at the same time, it was obvious where our future would be.
So... Phototech was brought to a "close" on April 27th, 2007. We thank all of our many loyal customers over the years. Of course, those local customers who have used us for their high quality custom photo cards over the years are welcome to order from PhotoAffections.com too! Local pick-up can be arranged - just send us an email through the PhotoAffections website.

(a resumé of sorts...)Opening in November of 1997, Phototech was successful from the beginning in setting ourselves apart from the mass merchant by offerering a consistently reliable product, along with excellent service and value. Every employee that has joined Phototech has had a minimum of 5 years experience in either photofinishing, photography, digital imaging, or a combination of all three.
We regularly train and cross-train our employees on new techonologies and products in order to better service our customers, and to set ourselves apart from any competitor. Our combined knowledge includes:

Orders placed online are received by our personnel Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. central time, however, a confirmation e-mail will be sent within moments of the receipt of any order.
Although orders cannot be canceled, if at any time it is discovered that you may have personalized your item(s) incorrectly, or you have changed your mind as the the design selection, please e-mail or call us immediately, as production may not have started. We want your complete satisfaction; therefore, we will hold your order until we hear from you again.
Phototech accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express. Orders placed online, are verified and charged immediately at purchase. Phototech also offers "in-house" accounts to our local professional customers for orders placed in our store. Of course, we also accept local checks, in addition to credit cards for orders paid in person.

Orders placed online by Texas residents will be charged sales tax of 8.25% If you are part of a tax exempt entity, please provide us with a Texas Resale Certificate or a Certificate of Exemption. In the interest of your time, please present these forms at the time of order placement or before. Forms must be signed by the appropriate party, and will be kept on file for future orders.

We use UPS Ground for standard orders. We also offer UPS Second Day and Next Day Air. Orders placed are charged standard UPS rates, in addition to a nominal charge for packing materials. This total amount is indicated during the placement of an order.
We pay close attention to the packing of all items to insure that they arrive intact! In the rare instance an item is broken or damaged, please notify us within 5 business days so we may begin a claim on your behalf. DO NOT DISPOSE OF DAMAGED ITEMS or any packing materials; they will be required for claims processing. You will also receive a prepaid shipping label for the return, when you receive your replacement. Damaged items not returned within 30 days will be billed to the credit card on file.

Customers that place orders online are just as important to us as customers that come into our store. Quite simply, if you are not satisfied, neither are we. All orders are produced with this thought in mind. However, if for any reason you feel your order did not meet your expectations, we want to hear about it so we may have to opportunity to resolve the situation promptly. Do not hesitate to e-mail or call us with your concerns.
We guarantee the quality of every order for 30 days. However, due to the personal nature of the items we produce, we do not offer refunds. If the quality of any item should be of a concern, please bring it to our attention. In the event any personalized order was produced incorrectly due to an error on our part, we will promptly re-produce the item(s) and ship them free of charge; the return of incorrectly personalized items is not required. Additionally, there may be an occasion where you made a mistake during the ordering process in regards to the personalization. In this instance, we will offer to re-produce the item(s) at a 40% discount, not including shipping fees.

Phototech respecst and uphold the legal rights of photographers and image authors. It is UNLAWFUL for us to reproduce images that are copyrighted without the express written permission of the person or entity that created the original work. If you have a copyrighted image and wish to use if for personalizing your item(s), please contact the photographer to request a signed copyright release; once provided, we will keep this for our files. We cannot provide additional copies of this release once submitted. Please respect that the photographer or image author is not under any obligation by law to provide this release.
If you have a studio image (particularly cruise pictures, sports photos and school portraits) that does not indicate who created the work and you are not aware who created the work, you may be able to claim that the work you are requesting is for "fair use," and that you are unaware, or are unable to contact the photographer.
(Copyright Indemnification) Purchaser agrees to hold harmless and indemnify Phototech of Midland for all costs, expenses, attorney's fees or judgements resulting from any claims or lawsuit made against Phototech of Midlandfor any grounds claiming that the work produced violates any copyright or proprietary right of any person or entity.

Phototech, Fastframe and The Digital Gift are located in Midland, Texas. We are conveniently located on State Loop 250 in North Midland, in Midland Plaza. Other merchants in our center include Mervyn's, Pier One Imports, Bed Bath & Beyond, Michael's and Family Christian Bookstore, along with many other locally owned businesses.

Phototech opened in November of 1997 and has been in the same location since. We opened Phototech because we saw that the traditional photofinshing market was being taken over by mass merchants, which in our opinion and experience, has led to substandard quality and ineffecive customer service.
Upon opening, Phototech quickly gained a reputation for quality, knowledge and service. Our current employees have a combined 24 years experience in the photofinishing environment. Additionally, we posess and utilize the greatest amount of knowledge of digital imaging and image editing, of any photofinishing business in our area. As you may guess, this includes web-site design experience. (Sorry... we don't offer web-site design as a service.)
Phototech "went digital" in March of 2002. The benefits of this transition has exceeded our expectations; we are able to offer better quality along with expanded services. Additionally, we have had the opportunity to fill a void, by offering assistance to people dealing with the complex issues and problems that revolve around using digital cameras. Regardless of using digital equipment, the pictures we produce are "real," meaning that are printed on true photographic paper, that will last for your lifetime and beyond.
In May of 2001 we opened Fastframe, which is a custom framing franchise based in Thousand Oaks, California. Fastframe offers the same services as most other framers, with a twist; we can provide custom framing within 48 hours, and if need be, in the same day! We have many mouldings in stock and also carry a vast selection of upper-end mouldings, including Larson Juhl.
In August of 2004, we started offering some of our products and services to the online public. We revamped Phototech's web-site in order to offer online ordering of our very popular photo greeting cards, both Christmas and year-round greetings/announcements. Additionally, we started an entirely new business called "The Digital Gift."
The Digital Gift is an online store that offers personalization of many items with photos or other images. The most popular items include photo mugs, mousepads, puzzles and T-Shirts; although there are dozens of items we offer. The difference between The Digital Gift and other personalization companies is our experience with pictures. Unlike other companies, we are also a lab, which means that we draw upon our years of experience with photofinishing when it comes to color and clarity. Additionally, we don't offer our photo gifts as "novelties;" rather they are high quality gifts and household items that our customers will be proud to use and display.

Beginning in August of 2004, Phototech will begin offering our Photo Gifts and Photo Greeting Cards / Announcements to online customers around the country. Our new website will be completely "dynamic." This will allow our customers, both locally and nationwide to securely place their personalized orders using the credit card of their choice, choose from multiple shipping options, and check their order status online.
Simiilar to our "traditional" retail store, the goal of our online store is to offer a more customized and higher quality product than is currently available through other outlets. Better yet, our pricing will be competitive with most online retailers who offer similar services.
Tenetively scheduled for February of 2005, or Photo Gift selection will be greatly expanded, offering items to suit every person and every occasion, including sports items, holiday items and promotional materials. Due to the size, this site will be spun off from Phototech and will be known as "The Digital Gift."
Scheduled for August of 2004, Phototech will become the first and only lab in the Permian Basin of West Texas to offer online ordering of our popular photo greeting cards / announements, along with our expanding selection of customized photo gifts. The site will offer secure and efficient ordering for local and nationwide customers.
For the second consecutive season, Phototech and The Midland Rockhounds Baseball Club have entered into an agreement that will provide the baseball club with their very popular Player Photo Cards.
For 11 games during the Rockhounds 2004 season, Phototech will provide the player photo cards that are handed out to the first 250 fans that attend on "Player Photo Night."
In addition to providing the Player Photo Cards for the Rockhouds 2003 season, Phototech also provided the cards to The Odessa Jackalopes for their 2003/2004 hockey season, which ended in March 2004.
Phototech now offers Photo Gifts! We currently offer custom designed photo mugs, mousepads and puzzles, and will be greatly expanding our offerings over the next several months. Read the information above about our future plans.
Although we will have standard designs to choose from, Phototech's personalized gifts are completely customizable. Additionally, all of our products are completely fade resistent and will last much longer than what some people might expect, particularly in regards to the photo mugs. The process we use renders a true photographic look, especially on ceramic and other glazed surfaces.
